人民大会堂金色大厅“我也太不显眼了”

人民大会堂金色大厅，是党和国家领导人接见外国政要的重要场所。在人们心目中，它富丽堂皇、典雅大方，且神圣庄严。人们会问我：“你在北京呆着，有没有参观过人民大会堂啊？”我以前会回答：“很遗憾，我还没有机会。”不过，这个答案从2016年12月10日发生了改变，如今我会回答：“我没有参观过，但是我在人民大会堂做过翻译！”这是多么令人自豪的答案，是多么令人骄傲的经历！所有这些都源自于中华善德网。

“善德”两个字覆盖了人们生活中所有积极的方面。善德文化是中华五千年文化的重要组成部分，是中华文化的灵魂之所，精髓之在。中国国际文化传播中心与一群具有担当精神的社会贤达、名流学者、优秀企业家发起成立了善德文化发展委员会及中华善德网。善德文化发展委员会是中心的直属机构。由中心执行主席龙宇翔担任善德文化发展委员会主席，李运之中将任执行主席。

2016年12月10日是个伟大的日子！这一天是善德文化发展委员会暨中华善德网上线启动仪式举办的日子，地点是人民大会堂金色大厅。

随着这个日子的日渐临近，善德的每一位工作人员既兴奋又紧张，大家已经为这个仪式做了许久的准备工作。虽然我是翻译，但是我并没有事先得到通知告知我在仪式上有翻译的任务。同其他同事一样，仪式的前一晚我睡眠很少，忙着准备各种资料、台卡、宣传册及接待客人、为客人买水果，以及其他看似琐碎却非常重要的事情。似乎老天爷很眷顾我们，鼓励我们做对人们生活有深远意义的工作。仪式当天天空晴朗、阳光和煦，这在北京的冬天是非常罕见的。

早上九点左右，嘉宾陆陆续续开始进入大会堂。每个人都在祈祷仪式能够顺利进行。突然，我的电话响了，告诉我有翻译任务，在两名外宾讲话时我要进行翻译。当时，我惊呆了，心脏开始快速跳动！你知道，此前我并没有见过这两位外宾，不知道他们的讲话风格，也不知道他们的发音和口音如何。你知道，这可是人民大会堂，不是旅游景点，这是个庄严的发布会不是游戏。最为重要的是，台下还坐着许多重要人物，包括国际文化传播中心的龙宇翔主席，十一届人大常委雷鸣球，泰中文化促进委员会副主席班迪·师黎丹荣及若干位将军等等。

北京心灵呼唤残疾人艺术团手语诗《共享阳光》作为开场表演，令人惊叹。龙宇翔主席发表了讲话，之后便是非盟主席顾问佩雷拉·坎波斯宣读非盟主席祖玛的贺信，然后是塞拉利昂共和国驻华大使阿里马米·科罗马致辞。

如今是时候我出场了！我深深的吸了几口气，站在了舞台旁边，告诉我自己已经做翻译十几年了，也有在重大场合担任翻译的经历，你能够做到！是的，我做到了！随着两位贵宾发表致辞，我的大脑高速运转，集中全部精力。当最后“谢谢”两个字说出口后，我向观众鞠躬，然后优雅的走了下去，把心放在了肚子里，松了一口气。是的，我成功的做到了！我可以自豪的告诉我的朋友们，我在人民大会堂做翻译！所有这一切都应该归功于中华善德网！作为其中的一名工作人员，我希望中华善德网紧随习近平主席的号召，成功的向全球推广中华善德文化。

Being an interpreter in the Great Hall of the People

The Golden Hall of the Great Hall of the People is an important venue for the leaders of the Party and our country to receive important foreign politicians. It is so magnificent, splendid and sacred in people’s mind. People may ask: “Did you visit there since you stay in Beijing?” My previous answer would be: “It is a pity that I haven’t got the chance.” But it changed on 10th of December 2016 and my answer now is “I didn’t visit there, I worked there once as an interpreter!” What a proud answer and what a proud experience! All this started by China Shande.

“Shande” is a word pronunciation in Chinese and its basic meaning is doing the good with great virtue and being benevolent as well as helping others, which covers all positive aspects in daily life. The Shande culture is an important part of Chinese culture of five thousand years as well as the soul and essence of Chinese culture. China International Culture Communication Center (CICCC) and responsible elites, scholars and excellent entrepreneurs co-started and established Shande Culture Development Committee and www.chinashande.com. The committee is the direct subsidiary of the CICCC with Executive-Chairman Long Yuxiang of CICCC as the chairman and General Li Yunzhi as the Executive Chairman of Shande Culture Development Committee.

10th of December 2016 is a great day! It is the date for the Establishment Ceremony of Shande Culture Development Committee and Launching Ceremony of www.chinashade.com.The venue of the ceremony is the Golden Hall of the Great Hall of the People.

As the day approaching, every staff in Shande got both excited and nervous as we have been preparing the ceremony for a long time. Though I am a translator, but I didn’t get the notice that I would have the translation task during the ceremony. I caught little sleep just as other colleagues in the previous night, busy with preparing materials, table cards, brochures and receiving guests, buying fruits for guests and other seemingly trifle but important things. It seemed the heaven favored us and encouraged us to do a work with profound meaning on people’s life. The sky was clear with warm sunlight. You know that is rare in the winter of Beijing.

Guests were entering into the Hall around 9am. Everyone kept their fingers across hoping the ceremony would go smoothly. Suddenly, my telephone rang and I was told that I had interpreting task and that I have to interpret during two foreign guests’ speeches. I was shocked and my heart started bumping so fast! You know I didn’t meet the two guests before and I didn’t know their speaking styles, their pronunciations and accent. You know this is the Great Hall of the People not a scenic spot. This is a solemn ceremony not a game. The most important is a lot of VIPs sitting there including the Mr. Long Yuxiang which I mentioned, Mr.Lei Mingqiu, Member of the NPC Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of China International Culture Communication Center, Mr.Bundit Sirithunyhong, Vice Chairman of The Sino-Thai Culture Promotion Committee and several generals etc.

After the marvelous opening performance, sign language poem <Sharing the Sunlight> by Beijing Soulinspiring Disabled Art Group and Mr. Long Yuxiang delivered the speech, it was the time that Diedre Nihaus, adviser for President of African Union, reading out the letter of congratulations from President of African Union, Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini-Zuma and later Alimamy Koroma, the Ambassador of Republic of Sierra Leone to China, delivering speech.

Now it was the time I show up! I got several deep breathes and stood beside the stage telling myself that you have been translator for over ten years and had the experience being an interpreter in big events and you can do it! Yes I can do it. Along with the speeches of the two distinguished guests, I kept my brain running fast and focused all my attention on what they said. When the last word“thank you”came out, I made a bow to the audience and walked nicely off the stage, I put my heart in my belly and sighed with relief. Yes I did it successfully! I can tell my friends proudly that I was an interpreter in the Great Hall of the People! All this should be tribute to Chinashande! As a staff here,I also wish China Shande stick to the calling of President Xi Jinping to promote Chinese Shande culture with a great success.
